How do you run a business that’s genuinely about helping people? Can profit and purpose coexist? There's no shame in wanting to profit – after all, we all need to make a living. But in my years as an entrepreneur, I’ve noticed something ugly: too many businesspeople focus solely on the business, and not on the people. Finding an answer to this question has always bothered me.
Before Mumino came to life, I ran a photo/video studio for over three years. The studio was buzzing with creativity and artistry, but the real magic happened in the unexpected moments. Like this one time, I was doing a photoshoot for a local bakery. Amidst the aroma of fresh bread and pastries, the baker and I got talking. What started as a chat about lighting and angles turned into a heartfelt conversation about his family's immigration story and how this bakery was their American dream. We lost track of time, and in those moments, our interaction transcended business. It was a meeting of stories, of dreams.
And that wasn't an isolated incident. Whether it was a nervous bride finding her confidence in front of the camera or a startup owner seeing their vision come to life in a promo video, each interaction taught me something vital: People are endlessly fascinating, and if you listen closely enough, you'll find ways to genuinely enrich their lives. These weren’t just transactions; they were connections, and they became my most treasured memories. I started to wonder, how could I do this on a larger scale?
That’s where Mumino stepped in. Mumino isn’t just a web design agency; it’s my attempt to answer that lingering question. Our approach is akin to helping a friend move – yes, it’s work, but there’s heart and camaraderie in it. We’re not just delivering a service; we’re embarking on a journey to connect, understand, and ultimately, to enrich lives.
Our mission at Mumino is to humanize the business world, one project at a time. We blend professionalism with passion, commitment with curiosity. We’re excited about this journey and the countless stories we’ll encounter along the way. Each project is a new chapter, a new opportunity to make business not just about profit, but about people, connections, and real impact.
